This is the first edition of the Fairytale Blog. I wanted to give our artists a chance to express themselves. And for our clients a better idea of who we are.
I went to cosmetology school right out of High School. From there my first job landed me at Jose Eber on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. I then went on to working at different salons until I found a place I fit in Malibu. I have worked in Malibu now since 2000.
I created Fairytale Hair and Makeup in 2002. We really started things going in 2003. I have always had a love for formal styling and makeup. No matter where I worked, I couldn't do enough of it. So a little lightbulb went off in my head. Why dont I start my own business? Thats where we begin. Fairytale Hair and Makeup started as a little company with myself and one other artist. I called it Fairytale because of my dreams of my own Fairytale wedding, Prince Charming, and Disney.
The response was overwhelming. So I decided to try and find other hair and makeup artists with the same passion throughout Southern California. Once I got that established, I need to take on the wedding capitol of the world, Las Vegas. I flew out to Vegas and had a day of back to back interviews with artists. That is also when I met with Amelia. She has helped manage the Fairytale Las Vegas ever since. She is a big reason why Fairytale is what it is today. From then, Las Vegas was on its way.
A couple years later, I decieded to take on Northern California.
We continue to grow with our talented artists. Eventually will be taking on other regions.
Fairytale has also given me a chance to work with Disney and their Fairytale Weddings. Which was my dream.
I welcomed the birth of my daughter in October, 2006. My life now is devoted to her and Fairytale. I am a stay at home single mom. I work a day in Malibu at a salon and do house calls with my daughter in between. The rest of the time I do weddings. And continue making Fairytale thrive.
